AWB Associates are creating a stunning new link between the recently refurbished listed stable courtyard and the House. Not only will the new link provide safe and logical circulation for hotel guests, housekeeping staff and deliveries to back of house, but it will transform a previously redundant landscape into a beautifully sculpted and planted garden. Laid out using the pure geometry of the ellipse, a descending path is flanked by arcing walls and sweeping hedges, all set within a framework of strategically placed screening trees and bold blocks of clipped shrubbery. On completion, the scheme will form a new backdrop to the orangery, restoring its historic setting.
