Alistair’s work is influenced by nature, landscape photography and drawing. The degree to which one works with nature establishes the spirit of a new garden or landscape, and therefore the patterns, textures, rhythms and processes that shape our natural world are an inspirational guide when embarking on the design process. While photography encapsulates the act of looking, to draw is the act of seeing. Drawing in the field and sketching in the studio both form important parts of Alistair’s work.
